In the journey of nations there are historic marking points. On July 1st, 2017 one of these points will take place when Canada celebrates it’s 150th birthday.

As a nation we have so much to look back on, to celebrate, to be thankful for and so much potential for the future. At the same time we have much to repent of and cry out for God’s mercy for.

We believe the hinge of Canada’s history lays in the hands of the praying church.

Because of this, we are calling believers from every denomination, generation and cultural group to gather together at the historic Fort Henry in Kingston, ON, for a day of prayer and fasting for Canada on our 150th birthday.

Our 150th year begins our next national cycle of 50 years. This means it is our jubilee. This is a time when debts are forgiven and the land is returned back to it’s original intent.

This is significant for Canada. We believe that God desires to return Canada back to His original plan.

Also, biblically 50 is a very significant number.

In the New Testament the word Pentecost comes from the Greek word for fiftieth. It was on Pentecost that God first poured out Holy Spirit upon about 120 believers (Acts 1:15, 2). This out pouring of Holy Spirit changed the face of the earth and birthed the New Testament church in power.

We are believing for the greatest outpouring of Holy Spirit that Canada has ever seen.

Kingston has a key historical role in our nation.

It is the city of Upper Canada’s first Parliament. It is also the home town of our first Prime Minister, Sir John A Macdonald, who personally penned a letter to the Queen at Confederation declaring that the Fathers of Confederation desired to call Canada the Dominion of Canada after Psalm 72:8 (He will have dominion from sea to sea and from the river to the ends of the earth).

We believe this letter was a reflection of the dream of God for Canada.

We believe that dream is alive.

We believe God is calling us to join Him in bringing it from heaven to earth.

Before the Israelites entered the promised land Joshua called them to consecrate themselves (Joshua 3:5).

Before the Lord poured out Holy Spirit Jesus told His faithful ones to gather and press in with prayer.

Every year, before the Jewish people began a new year the Lord told them to repent of the sins of the previous year and enter the new year with a clean slate. What they repented of was wiped away, what wasn’t was carried into the next year. This is still practiced to this day during the Days of Awe and Yom Kippur.

The principle is clear: before the shift there is a call to consecration.

We believe if we fast & pray He will answer.

We believe if we repent He will forgive.

We believe as we worship He will inhabit our praises.

We believe if we prophesy to dry bones they will live.

We believe if we tarry Holy Spirit will come.

We believe as we walk in unity He will release His commanded blessing.

We believe that as we heed the call to gather He will do exceedingly abundantly beyond all we can ask or dream of for Canada.

Will you come and participate with your whole heart for this significant hinge moment in our national timeline?
