In the journey of nations there are historic marking points.

These are moments when the people of these nations have an opportunity to look back and reflect as well as to position themselves to chart the course of their future.

2017 is one of these historic times for Canada as we celebrate our 150th birthday.

As a nation we have so much to look back on and be thankful for. We have so much to celebrate. We also have so much potential for the future.

At the same time we much to repent of. We have stains on our nation. We are living in a time of intense moral confusion. A time when the unjust bloodshed of the unborn, sexual immorality and secular humanistic values are exalted.

Our 150th year begins our next national cycle of 50 years. Biblically 50 is a very significant number.

In the New Testament the word Pentecost comes from the Greek word for fiftieth. It was on Pentecost that God first poured out Holy Spirit upon about 120 believers who had gathered to keep the day (Acts 1:15, 2). This out pouring of Holy Spirit changed the face of the earth and birthed the New Testament church in power.

The 50th year is also a Biblical jubilee. This is a time when debts are forgiven and the land is returned back to it’s original owner and intent.

This is significant for Canada.

We believe that God desires to return the Canada back to His original intent and desires to pour out His Spirit afresh from sea to sea.

Before the Israelites entered the promised land Joshua called them to consecrate themselves (Joshua 3:5).

Before the Lord poured out Holy Spirit Jesus told His faithful ones to gather and press in with prayer.

Every year, before the Jewish people began a new year the Lord told them to repent of the sins of the previous year and enter the new year with a clean slate. What they repented of was wiped away, what wasn’t was carried into the next year. This is still practiced to this day during the Days of Awe and Yom Kippur.

The principle is clear: before you enter the new season gather, consecrate yourselves, pray, repent and posture yourself for the new season. This is Biblical protocol for a nation.

We believe God is calling us to gather for a national solemn assembly at this critical time for our nation.

On July 1st we will come together in Kingston, the city of Upper Canada’s first Parliament and the home town first Prime Minister of Canada (Sir John A Macdonald), to humble ourselves before God and contend for the original dream of God to be release in Canada for the next 50 years….that He will have dominion from sea to sea (Psalm 72:8).

We believe the dream of God for Canada is alive.

We believe if we repent He will forgive.

We believe if we pray He will answer.

We believe if we tarry Holy Spirit will come.

We believe is time for Canada’s jubilee, for the land to be returned to it’s original owner (God) and for it to manifest His glorious purposes in the next phase of our history.

Will you come and participate with your whole heart for this significant hinge moment in our national timeline?
